Thank you for making and sharing this game! Feels like a real (as in commercial), full game from my childhood.
The only thing that could have been better are explanation of the powerups. As a beginner, I had a hard time distinguishing between good and bad powerups. Sometimes, I didn't even notice any changes after picking up a powerup. Maybe some of below ideas could help with that:
- Give good and bad powerups distinctive background colors, or shapes. E.g. Good powerups are always drawn on green circles; bad powerups always on red squares.
- When picking up a powerup, show a text message with the name of the powerup (similar to the message "Level 1" when entering a level).
- In the main menu and pause menu, add a button that takes you to a screen where all powerup icons are shown with names.
