The Alternate Genre Jam is the game jam where you choose the exact wrong genre for what the Jam's theme is.

For example, if the theme were guns (which it isn't), instead of making an action game, you would instead create a romantic; interactive novel... where you shoot people.

Rules

• Teaming is allowed: come along to our Discord to find a partner in mayhem!
• You Must follow the theme provided. The theme will be announced 5 minutes before the jam begins.
• Third party assets are allowed, but they all must be disclosed in the entry's description. Using too many unoriginal assets could make your ratings tank.
• The creation of the game, excluding third party assets, must be made in the 48-hour time period.
• The jam will be ranked after the 48 hours are up for 1 week.

Will there be prizes?

The top three submissions' will be credited in the credits of my current game in progress, The Dystopian Escape. Apart from that, the knowledge you will gain from doing the jam is your true prize :)
