I woduet say that Anton has had a rocky start to 3d, but this epxeirnce really shows how well the general idea and animation of anton could be interprted in a 3d space. personally, the way the camra controled reminded me of a sega saturn platformer where there isnt a true camera, oweing to the focus on puzzle platforming.
In terms of Antonism I don't feel like it has much other than having the characters and textures. However in terms of having its own identity it does a great job of that by changing what AntonBall was and making it into a 3D platformer with surprisingly good animations reminding me of Wario World. And it is entertaining even when the bugs are present and does a great job with the puzzle part even if they are pretty basic they are still enjoyable and I would like to see this happen officially one day.
