Athens Game Jam is back - although in a slightly different form. With the complications due to COVID-19 the Athens Game Jam will be an online only jam this year. We ask that anyone participating follow all government and health organization guidelines in effect during the jam.
The Athens Game Jam is an annual event held in Athens, GA, USA. The theme is chosen at random the night of the event. Usually, we accept the submission of board games to this jam, but given the current complications with being able to play a prototype board game, you may have to get creative with your submission. This is a game jam for fun, learning, and comradery. We encourage cross-team cooperation and organizers will do their best to facilitate this given this unique situation. There is a judging component to this jam to nominally recognize teams that showed well crafted game development skills. Judging for this game jam is done by the participants and organizers in 5 categories: Best in Show, Best Art, Best Design, Best Audio, and Best Programming. Participants' and organizers' scoring will have equal weight and teams cannot vote for themselves. So, everyone is encouraged to play everyone else's games.
The UGA Game Developers Club and IGDA Atlanta look forward to seeing your games.
