Challenging platformer. I included it in my compilation video of all of the Awful Holiday 2018 games!

(x/post) I don't know why you were worried about this one at all, it's pretty fun walljumping and whatnot.  There's a lot of little things that would've improved it a fair bit (adding input pauses so you don't have to neutral walljumps, telegraphing attacks, a stronger ending maybe with a deeper narrative or at least some art, maybe another jump button besides space, making out with dodecahedrons) but I had fun rushing to collect everything in time while also trying to break it because that's fun too.  Good job!

Making a platformer in a week? You ambitious mad person you.

Overall it works pretty well! The platforming feels alright, wall jumping functions and  the level design isn't overly harsh.

Sound balance is a major issue in this game, the first time I cleared a stage it near destroyed my ears.

Jumping is a little floaty, took some getting used to.

Wall-jumping is particularly strange, but once I got used to it it complimented the gameplay quite well I felt.

Graphics are a little simple, but it didn't obstruct gameplay in any major way (though it was sorta difficult to tell that the health pickups were indeed health..).

Nice work

Pros:

  • Fun narrative compliant with theme
  • Simple and straightforward platformer

Cons:

  • Hazards don't telegraph their attacks
  • Score count sound effect is quite grating

A nice product for four days work, this game has a nice cohesion in visual style that is difficult to pull off in such a short time. The movement feels heavy but is easily acclimated to, though having some more levels would help to give the player more of a chance to really get into it. The sound at the end of the level is pretty harsh and there's what seems to be a period in the top left of the text and score screen. It's fun and challenging to collect the items, but because the enemies attacks are on a timer and travel through objects, and they cannot be eliminated, it can be frustrating to have to guess when they'll send out a note in your direction especially when they're right on top of you. We can all appreciate the ending sentiment.
