What is The Badger and Coyote Jam?

A free and open licensed version of Badger + Coyote that contains all the rules and design guidelines for you to make your own two player (duet) games.

The Creator's Guide contains everything you need: The rules, designer commentary, and even copy and paste rules. Just bring your characters, setting, and imagination!

Named after the original game, the system is designed for games that feature two characters of different personalities or outlooks working together: from two very different creatures, two humans who have opposite personalities, or even aliens from different planets.

Creator Tips

GM vs GMless

The rules are made for GMless play by default, with each player taking turns narrating scenes and adding in complications. However, it is also valid to have one player as the dedicated narrator, running a game for the other.

Include Simple Beginnings

The System uses adventure hooks in place of fully detailed adventures found in many TTRPGs. We recommend including two small hooks (we call them "Simple Beginnings") to help players understand the types of adventures they can go on in your game - or build your game around one big adventure!

Have Fun With It

Your game doesn't have to be complex or long. It can be about anything, as serious or funny as you'd like. The important thing is you have fun making it. Go wild!
