A sweet story, but as a character, Hardy seems a little too perfect. It's really only in the last part of the story that you see his faults and how his relationship with Jayden made him a better person. If there was more of a sense of Hardy's flaws as a human being and how he grows and changes throughout the story, that would have made him feel less like a plot device and more like a flesh-and-blood person.
