Welcome to the first-ever BATTLECAT GAME JAM!

In this jam, you'll be given 48 hours to design and create a game based on a theme that will be revealed when the jam starts!

Until then, it's a heavily guarded secret. I suppose you could say it's invisible, hidden in a dark room that's at the center of a maze, that's located somewhere up here taps head.

THE THEME IS: "DEATH IS A LUXURY FEW CAN AFFORD"

Poorly hidden nods to masterpieces aside, each game will be judged by several criteria:

Relevancy to the theme
Creativity
Gameplay
Music
Visuals

Each game will receive a score based on each of these criteria and the one(s) with the highest score will win the BattleCat Game Jam!

Every game will be judged by the community for the most part, but the final decision will likely be made by me and any other potential judges.

The winner of the game jam will be rewarded a surprize with possible runner-up prizes, depending on the popularity of the jam.

Now, the part I know you greedy bastards have been waiting for: the prize!

The winner of the BGJ will win several assorted games including renowned titles such as VVVVVV and PikuNiku! Potential runner-up prizes will be announced and awarded if/when at least 15 projects are submitted.

And of course, like any good game jam, there are rules:

1. Your submission MUST be your or your team's own work
2. Your game must have been made ONLY during the period the Jam extends. No premade assets are allowed
3. You may have UP TO 6 team members
4. Your game MUST BE playable on a Mac, a Windows, or in-browser. That means no mobile games
5. You may ONLY change your game after the deadline to fix a bug, make the game available on more platforms, or implement a feature you had created but forgot to include in the final release

And with that, I would like to leave you with some final words. And here they are: Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak!

Thank you, and GOOD LUCK!
