Very cool! The lighting and pixel art is very well done. I also liked the sfx. I found the game a littlw too hard though, I dont think the zombies needed a ranged attack, and a little more knockback when throwing them candy would have helped. Really cool looking game, keep it up!

Hey. I recorded a video about the Beginners Circle jam and included your game in it. If you want to cut your game out of the video, let me know. However, if you like the video, I make similar videos every day. I will be happy if you subscribe. Anyway, I enjoyed playing your game.

very witty! I love the art and animations :D

Cool art and animations. Loved the sound effects too. Game play is good too. There were a few times, specifically with the hands reaching out of the ground, where I wasn't sure if I should be attacking or avoiding the enemies. Interesting idea, great poem, and great job!

Thanks for playing ExtraBilly. I appreciate your feedback as well! Good point and I think better communication that the bats are spawning the zombies as their AOE would be better as well.

Thanks again!

I love the poem before the game. However, when I press the 'shift' key, 'sticky keys' comes up and interrupts the game play. I probably have an older computer though that causes this to happen.

Thanks for playing! The poem was written by Constant_Hat, I'll let him know you liked it! Sorry to hear that you had an issue with sticky keys. When that popup happens, click disable sticky keys.

The game with a short humorous poem for the backstory, that's fun. Gameplay and art are also fine. Unlike other players, I can't complain about controls. Left hand on left shift and right hand on arrows are pretty ok, and 'sticky keys' were disabled years ago (I don't understand people who play games and don't disable this 'feature'. Is anybody really using it?). Actually the fun of gameplay depends very much on the absence of lag, and without lag it's just ok. Not very sure about your idea to replace shift with LMB, unless you want to implement aiming or something like that. Played another submission for this jam where the controls with the mouse were used for a thing which didn't actually require mouse, and these controls were not fun.

Thanks for the feedback and for taking the time to play my entry. In the update I have added the ability to use the LMB in addition to SHIFT. I agree sticky keys can be / should be disabled.

Loved the intro story. I couldn't get past the first level though. It was difficult to hit those zombies out of the range of their vomit. Neat topical concept.

Thanks for the feedback rustybailey! I too agree the zombies are difficult. The trick to them is to jump over them and attack. I have found after releasing the game that LMB would be a better fit for attack as when things get intense it is difficult to manage jumping, moving, and attacking all with a single hand. I have updated the game to allow the use of both SHIFT and LMB but waiting for approval to upload it. Once the Jam is over I will be updating it regardless.

lol I was having fun but my computer kept giving me a sticky keys warning. fitting that its candy, being sticky keys. (if on windows and you press shift too many time in a row, you will get a warning and usually glitch a game you are playing) =) I love the zombies and the movement and learning tutorial for the controls. Great Game!

Hey JollyShmo! Thanks for checking out the game. I am thrilled you enjoyed the tutorial at the beginning. I had a great time implementing it.
