The Wandering Swords system features clever and decisive Soulslike combat of "learning moves" with the nods towards the iconic flasks and resurrection mechanics, but with a good narrative twist. There's a solid enough bulk of content that with some playthrough, it's easy enough to randomly generate new areas for the players to delve through and maybe take a crack at making new items or enemies.
The creator is very vocal and friendly, and I can't wait for the full release.
Fun game, although it's a challenge to run it having never played Bloodborne. I ran a one-shot game through a version of Heliwyr heavily influenced by H. P. Lovecraft's Shadow Over Innsmouth, lots of watery critters and cthulhean "sirens", and that worked really well. The game could easily stretch out to something quite long, or play through very quickly, depending on player choices and how much RP is happening, so be prepared for that.
