Really enjoy the gameplay style but the lag is intense.

Most games like this on itch.io fall into the same  pitfalls. A developer is passionate about an idea and makes an early concept game. They develop the game ad hoc, changing story, focus and mechanics as their whims change. Usually they run out of steam before finishing, leaving behind an incomplete and jumbled product.

This is happily not one of those cases. The game is very well planned and juggles a truly impressive amount of choice and diverging paths. Puppydragon is clearly a smart puppy, had a very clear idea of what the game would be and was motivated to see it through.

There are some bugs (as of V1.0.0) but given the complexity of the game, the limited resources (presumably just one person) and the fact that the game is obstinately free I am more than happy to cut the game some slack!

I very much enjoyed my first playthrough, during which I did a fair bit of reloading to check out some alternative branches, and will undoubtedly try another playthrough with a very different approach. I'll be watching out for future games Puppydragon!
