Come make games with us! You'll be given the source for a basic arcade game. From there you'll add your own twist to it - new mechanics, art, power-ups, levels, whatever you can imagine! No experience is required - just a can-do attitude! The library has a few computers you can use during the event, but bring a laptop if you can.

We invite everyone in the Eugene community to participate, from kids to seniors, from experienced game developers to beginners who have never made a game before.

All types of digital games are welcome – video games, board games, card games, tabletop games, etc. You can create your game on any engine that can export to itch.io.

Submissions will not be judged or ranked. The goal is to have fun, learn something new, and be creative.

Games must be free to play.  (Under "Pricing," select "No payments.")

Don’t worry about finishing your game. We welcome you to share any game components, animations or assets you’ve created.

We encourage you to come to game riff sessions at the Eugene Public Library:

Saturday, May 25, 2019, 3:30pm-5:30pm
Sunday, May 26, 2019, 3:30pm-5:30pm

Saturday, June 29, 2019, 3:30pm-5:30pm
Sunday, June 30, 2019, 3:30pm-5:30pm

You can also check out our guide to game design and development, including tutorials, game engines, and assets.

These drop-in sessions with local game developers will take place at the Downtown Library.  Laptops will be available for participants to use on a first come, first served basis and participants are encouraged to bring their own laptops.
