Bitsy is a fun little tool to easily create low resolution games. I tried out the tool last week, and submitted my game "Reconnect our Robots!" to a game jam just for fun. I thought it would be fun to play with the tool as an extended family, so here we are!

We will be meeting at 3pm Central Time to discuss the jam and Bitsy. Connect to our meeting via this link. You don't have to be at the meeting, but if you can make it that will help.

Here is a short Bitsy tutorial which might help you if you get stuck.

This is an invite only game jam, but feel free to invite any direct family members of yours to participate, just give them the URL. The game jam is unlisted, but can be accessible by anyone with the URL.

Rules:

1. The theme of the game will be decided on Monday afternoon at about 4pm Central Time. We will each contribute a noun and an adjective, and then randomly select from the two categories, ending up in a unique theme, for example: humble blueberries or white kittens.

2. You should try to integrate the theme in someway, directly or indirectly. You will be judged on how well you do so in the "Best Fit to Game Theme" category.

3. Other criteria categories will be "Best Story," "Best Gameplay," and "Best Art."

4. You may either submit individually or you can make a game together and submit the single game together.

5. After the submission deadline ends, you will have about a day to play the other games, give feedback, and judge. Any family members can vote, even if you didn't submit a game. You might need an itch.io account to vote, I am not sure.
