Season's Greetings, Bitsy friends! Good ol' Santa Daues is here to host the 4th annual Bitsy Community Winter Holiday Event! It has been so fun to do this the past three years so I'm excited to do it once again! Let's give the gift of Bitsy! 🎉
Like previous years, this is an event hosted through the Bitsy Discord (Bitscord) where members of the Bitsy community make games for each other in the style of a Secret Santa gift exchange. This jam page will stay unlisted & only accessible through the Bitscord until the gift exchange has ended.

🌟STARTING THIS YEAR🌟 and onward, we are extending the gift exchange to involve Bitsy-likes as well as Bitsy games! In addition to Bitsy, you also have the option to make your Secret Santa gift using a Bitsy-adjacent gamemaking tools such as Môsi or Bipsi!
Hey, dude, what's a 'Secret Santa'?
A Secret Santa is a gift-giving exchange where everyone who participates is given the name of another participant, usually chosen at random. You then secretly get a gift for them (usually involving espionage missions where you have to surreptitiously find out what your person likes without giving yourself away), and then at a later date, everyone exchanges presents, revealing who got gifts for who! In this case, we'll all be giving each other Bitsy & Bitsy-like games!
Okay, so how will this work?
First, to participate, you will need to sign up using this sheet right here. Please fill in all information to the best of your ability! You have until TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 30TH to sign up for the event!
On WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 1ST, you will receive the name of your Secret Santee, the person you will be making a game for. Then you can start working on your game using any of the following tools:
Once your gift is done, be sure to submit it here! Submissions on this jam page will be hidden until DECEMBER 25TH, but you are free to submit your game any time between DECEMBER 1ST - JANUARY 1ST. Once games are revealed, feel free to message your Santa recipient that you have made a game for them!
Cool, can we have a bit more rules?
🎄 The person you're assigned to will give you 1-3 one-word prompts to use as a starting-point for inspiration when making your Bitsy game. Incorporate these prompts however you see fit!
🎄 On December 1st, All participants will be assigned to one of either two teams: Team Red and Team Green. Your Santee will be guaranteed to be on a different team from you, so you can use your team members as a resource for feedback, playtesting, and secret-keeping. There will be a designated channel in the Bitsy Discord for each team to chat. Chatting with your team is of course totally optional, but hopefully it can enrich your Santa experience!
🎄 Your Bitsy game can be as simple or as complex as you want to make it! Hacks? No Hacks? Go for it!!!!
🎄 Please do your best to make something nice for your assigned person! But of course, I know things happen, so if you have to bail out for any reason whatsoever, please please PLEASE let us know as early as you can so we can make arrangements accordingly. You can also sign up on the Sign-Up Sheet just to be a backup, and make a game only if someone has to bail.
🎄 This goes without saying, but don't be mean or hateful in your games! And steer clear of more sensitive topics unless you know 100% for sure that your Santee is okay with that!!! 💦💦💦
