Milk Tea Tech is hosting its first ever game jam!

This is a game design jam, so you don't need to know how to code to participate - we'll be judging based on creativity, clarity of concept, and presentation. If you feel like a demo will help you show off your concept better, great! If you'd rather make a video, a mock-up, or a board game version of the idea, that's also great.

The jam will run from 6-8 January 2023 and voting will end at midnight GMT on 16 January 2023.

A rough timeline:

- On the 6th we'll announce the theme of the jam, help put together teams, and open up the discord channels for different teams.
- The deadline for the jam will be midnight, 9 January GMT.
- After the deadline we'll open submissions for voting. This will be a combination of popular vote and bonuses / penalties awarded by admins.
- Entries that clearly match the theme will get bonus points; entries that don't stick to it will be penalised.

Prizes are as follows, but we're hoping to add more, especially for the top placing entries!

1st Prize: $270 credit for classes or tutoring (equivalent to 6 tutoring hours or 9 class hours), 2 months of Discord Nitro or Mullvard VPN

2nd Prize: $180 credit for classes or tutoring (4 hours tutoring), 1 month of Discord Nitro or Mullvard VPN

3rd Prize: $120 credit for classes or tutoring (3 hours tutoring, 4 hours of class), 1 month of Discord Nitro or Mullvard VPN

Runners up: 2 hours of free classes on either web development or game development courses! Depending how many submissions there are this might be given out by a lottery system or may be awarded to everyone who took part.
