Review Time!

This was probably one of the most fun games in this Jam. Slaying all those enemies is very satisfying and being able to "help" your turrets to kill enemies is a great touch.

With that said, I'll have to criticize the wall. It's not useful at all. It's completely unnecessary early on, and literally work against you when the rock enemies are introduced. Placing walls makes those rock enemies start shooting fireballs sooner,  which destroy your turrets sooner since the projectiles phase through turrets and walls.

And as someone else mentione in the comments, I think this game needed to have upgrades for the player itself. After a while, your gun barely makes a difference when killing enemies.

And well, the game unfortunately crashed on me on Wave 9, so I couldn't finish it.

This game works pretty well for what it is. The gameplay is nothing to write home about, but it doesn't have any serious flaws. I think the best part of this game is the charm the UI brings to the game. Seeing the characters talk to each other as you progress was pretty cool.

I also like how the torpedos are stronger than the cannon, but it doesn't completely replace the cannon since it can only be shot sideways. It gives more variety to the combat. The game mentioned a bomb, but I never got to unlock one.

In conclusion, this game isn't anything exceptional, but it's not bad at all either.

Survive 1000 enemies! In this roghelike + tower defense shooter you have to survive 1000 enemies in 11 waves and defeat the final boss. You can use the hand gun, turrets, traps and walls on your favor, just don't forget about that money! Th...

This is a surprisingly nice game. The game controls perfectly fine, and exploring and figuring out the puzzles was very fun. It's actually kind of hard to believe this was done in two weeks. The visuals looks very impressive for a game done in such a short time period. Every location looks fairly detailed, and everything is nice to look at.

One critique I have is that I honestly think the game would have worked better with no music at all. When the music starts playing, it doesn't stop at any point, when it would be better to not play it in the computer section and the ending.

I also thought the ending didn't make much sense to me. If the player is a monster, then why other monsters attack us? Are we a different type of monster? Are the other monsters hallucinations?

Also, I think the game ties into the Jam's theme way too loosely. It's a barely noticeable narrative point, while other games made it a central mechanic of their game, or at least an important mechanic.

Besides these things, and the fact this game isn't that replayable, this is a pretty solid Game Jam entry, and I'm surprised with how much you managed to do with such little time.

This is the most unfair mess I've played in this Game Jam. Let's first start with the positives.

The graphics are fine. It doesn't stand out that much, but all things considered, it's nice to look at.

The choice to drink blood or using it to fill the altar was pretty nice. I had to regenerate a ton of health to complete the game. If it weren't for that, this game would have been rated lower. With that said, I initially wasn't aware of the fact you can drink the blood, because the control instructions were hidden away from the screen due to resolution issues, and I had to read the comments to find out this was even a thing.

And now... for the many negatives.

First of all, who's idea was to give not only enemies the ability to push the player and other enemies, but give the damn DEBRIS that ability as well? Enemies are constantly pushing you everywhere, and if you get pushed by one enemy in each side, or an enemy push you against a wall, you get completely stuck, allowing the enemy to deal you completely unfair damage. Colliding with the debris messes up with your jumps, sometimes making them way shorter than you wanted them to be, and sometimes they get in the way when trying to run away from enemies.

The arena is quite large, but there's almost no reason to ever go to the top, because if you stay there for too long, the bottom will be completely filled with enemies, and going there is a guaranteed death.

Furthermore, where the enemies spawn should have absolutely been communicated through visuals in some way, because sometimes they just spawn right inside of you with no warning.

Jumping over enemies can sometimes be quite unfair, because they move way too fast, and it can be especially hard to avoid them if there are debris messing with you.

In conclusion, the concepts of this game are nice, but the gameplay is agonizingly unfair, making this near unplayable.

This game is completely inoffensive. There's no hard challenge to be frustrated by, the gameplay is relaxing, the game doesn't overstay its welcome, and the graphics are pretty nice. It's a game that is very difficult to hate, but at the same time, it's a game that doesn't do much to be considered truly great. It's pretty basic, but it excels extremely well at that.
