Aspects of bullet hell games are everywhere and you can incorporate them in almost everything. From puzzles, platformers, mazes, rhythm games, and just plain bullets. Do whatever you want in this game jam made just for bullet hell games in a given theme. Have fun!
RULES
We're pretty laid back and since this is our first jam we don't want to push the expectations up too hard. Just create a digital game that is a bullet hell game that fits within the theme and you are good. We would prefer if everything was made in the given time frame but using assets before the time frame and assets that you didn't create (opengameart.org) is allowed. Just make sure to credit.
Try to keep it PG-13 however if there is mature content not suitable for users under the age of 18 (like me) then please put a warning (though I may play it anyway XD). Also, if there is flashing lights in your game make sure to put an epilepsy warning as well, an epilepsy mode that toggles flashing lights on and off would be great for viewers that have that issue.
You can work by yourself or up to a team. There is no team limit but 1 - 4 people in a team is best (yourself counts). Make sure to credit the people that worked with you on the game (portfolio links or itch.io profiles are sufficient). Make sure to port your games properly. You can also send us a zip of your raw game files however a ported version is required. Windows, Mac, and Linux is great but you could just export to WebGL or HTML to cover all of those operating systems, plus Chrome OS. ;)
THEME
The theme is Time. Take the theme how you want it, we don't want to influence your brainstorming. :)
The submissions must be bullet hell games. Puzzles, Platformers, Mazes, Rhythm games, plain bullet hell; You name it! As long as there is bullets, MANY BULLETS!
SCORING
Scoring is probably irrevelant since this is a small jam, however I'll be doing it anyway.
We will be scoring based on six categories.
THEME - How well does the game fit the theme?
FUNCTIONALITY - How well does the game run? Does the coding structure of the game make you feel truly immersed?
VISUALS - Graphics, atmosphere, and overall look and aesthetic of the game.
AUDIO - How well the audio and music sounds and how well it is synced with the rest of the game.
CREATIVE - How creative was the idea that the game took on? Was it ordinary or extra-ordinary?
FUN - How fun was it to play? If it's no fun, what's the point.
Don't feel any pressure with the scoring system. I'm just doing this for fun anyways. Submit even if you think you'll get a bad score.. Hehe..
Have fun.
