Welcome to the first Computer Animation Jam! This is to serve as a mini student showcase made by Full Sail students, for Full Sail students. Its purpose is for students to practice what they learned in class, prepare for the actual student showcase, and above all have fun!

Like with the Game Jam made for gaming students, Animation Jam is voluntary. You will have a month to create a Shorty, Gif, or Still. 2D and 3D will be separate categories, so you don’t have to worry about your 2D creation competing with a 3D creation.

Also like the Game Jam, voting will be open for a week after the deadline ends. Everyone is encouraged to vote regardless of participation in the actual Jam.

Theme

This month's theme is Winter Romance. Valentine's day is right around the corner. So, show us your best wintry romance story ideas.

Rules

  • Submissions must be story based. Whether you choose to do a Shorty, Gif, or Still, the work must clearly convey a story. You may also submit an explanation of the story that is being represented.
  • Shorties must be between 30 sec to 1 min long. Anything under 30 sec or over 1 min will be disqualified.
  • Mature content must be flagged as such. Otherwise, the work should adhere to Full Sail requirement of being PG13.
  • Submissions for shorties should be in .mp4 format or via the YouTube method as outlined by Full Sail professors. The video can be unlisted on YouTube and the link turned in.
  •  Work must be properly cited. Any assets used should be cited. Also, if any existing story lines or ideas are used, such as the Avatar example, then that should be properly cited as well.
  • Teams- Like the Game Jam students, we will only be starting out with solo work. This helps students ease into it before trying a pipeline process. It helps limit confusion.

Voting is open to everyone. Results will be announced the following Sunday.
