Welcome to the C.A.P Jam, a collaborative game jam organised by Teesside University's Game Creation, Game Arts, and Programming Societies! You do not need to be a member of any of these societies to participate. The event is scheduled for a week after Animex, allowing students to ease back into game development. Our jam will run for 48 hours over the weekend.
We will announce the theme during the Welcome Presentation at 17:30 in the OL7 lecture hall. Once teams are formed, the second floor of the Athena building will be available for all participants. On Saturday, pizza will be provided at 18:00 on the ground floor of the Athena building. Finally, on Sunday, we will hold the final showcase and awards ceremony at 17:30 in the OL7 lecture hall.
| Please Submit The Project.exe file and a Read Me if needed, along with a short video of your game |
| You are free to submit your game to other jams |
A game jam is a fun event where people come together to create a video game in a short time, usually 24 to 48 hours. In our case it is 48 hours! Participants can team up or work alone to brainstorm ideas, build prototypes, and showcase their creativity. It’s a great opportunity to learn, experiment, and connect with others in the gaming community!
| The theme will also be put on this itch page after announcement |
| Do I have to be a member of one of the societies to join?
No, everyone is welcome!
| Can I work in a team?
Absolutely! Team submissions are encouraged and welcome!
| Can I attend the event without a team?
Yes! Solo entries are perfectly fine.
| Can I use external assets?
Yes, you can use external assets as long as you have the rights to them.
| Can I submit a game I’ve already started?
No, you must start the game and design process from scratch during the jam.
| Can I update my game after submitting?
Yes! You can make updates as long as it’s before submissions close.
| Can I use AI to help make my game?
Yes! You can use AI for art, music, and code. However, we encourage you to create as much of your own material as possible!
| Who owns the games?
You do! Since you created the game, it’s yours. We do not claim any ownership.
| We don't have someone for (insert job title here), what should we do?
You can use Discord to find people with the skills you need. If your team is full, be resourceful and creative with what you have to make a playable game!
| I don't have any team members..
No problem! Join us at the event. Use our Discord channels to find others looking for team members, promote your skills, or even participate solo!
