2021/2022 Cease & Desist Jam!

The Cease & Desist Jam is dedicated to all us indie game devs who toil away making monuments to various worlds that we love and want to visit with our friends at the table. 1st Party tabletop ports of our favorite worlds from movies, books, and video games can be great! But more often than not they fall short of capturing what made those worlds so compelling to us in the first place, chasing fad systems or making choices based on what sells best, rather than what plays best.

We've all made (or at least thought about making) something inspired by our favorites, but many such things never see the light of day for a million reasons. The C&D Jam is a chance to share that good shit with the community.

The rules of this jam are very important. The C&D Jam isn't about getting ourselves in trouble, it's about showing off our best designs that'll sadly never sell for one reason or another. If you've got something monetizable, that's totally fine to submit as well, but in this Jam we're also reveling in the stuff we wouldn't normally put on itch because we couldn't charge money for it.

  1. No bigoted, hateful, racist, or queerphobic material. No glorifying or catering to fash. No chudwork.
  2. If your game is built around an Intellectual Property that you do not own, the game must be absolutely free of charge. No getting around this one. If you want to get sued, charging for stuff reliant on an IP you don't own is a good way to get sued.
  3. If you receive an actual C&D or other legal action as a result of posting your game here, abide by it and take the thing down. DMCA strikes should be appealed in clear cut Fair Use cases, but that's not on matty (the jam host) to take care of for you. Post at your own risk.
  4. Read, comment on, and rate each others' games. Talk em up on social media. Play them with your buds. The goal is to share games we otherwise might not, so if you see a submission that looks fun, dig the fuck in!
