WELCOME

CGD Jam is a 48-hour game jam taking place on Concordia University's SGW campus. There is a theme that you should use to inspire your game, though feel free to interpret it in any meanings you can think of. The theme is announced on-site, as soon as the clock strikes 7:30pm.

When: November 3rd, 7:30pm - November 5th, 7:30pm Where: MB 6.425, 1450 Guy St, Montreal, Quebec H3H 0A1

RATING

At the end of the jam, there will be a rating period over the course of 5 days. The results will be released on Sunday the 12th at 3:00pm. Your team will receive a feedback document along with your rating.

Your game will be rated on:

Out of 5 points each:

🎈 Enjoyment* - How enjoyable and fun it is to play your game.

💡 Innovation* - How original and interesting your concept for the game was.

🖼️ Theme* - How well your game uses the theme.

Out of 3 points each:

💻 Technically Sound - How functional, polished, and error-free the game was.

🎨 Graphics - How cohesive, well-presented and appealing to the eye your use of graphics in the game was.

🎵 Audio - How well the use of audio works in your game, including music, sound effects, voice acting (if any).

RULES

  1. Read the rules. Not reading the rules is not an excuse for breaking them.
  2. No NSFW games. Slightly suggestive, gory or violent games are fine, just don't go overboard.
  3. Stacked teams. If your team has more than 1 industry professional, executive and/or graduate student in a game-dev related field, you must disclose this in your team list (either on your game's itch page or the team-making spreadsheet).
  4. Teams greater than 4. This is allowed but just know that if your team has more than 4 members, one person might not get a prize. We would like to suggest that your team stays lower than 6 people maximum (for your benefit as well as ours!).
  5. Reusing existing code and assets is allowed to an extent. The majority of your game must be made within the time frame of the game jam.
  6. Fan games are allowed but must follow the theme. If you want to win, your game needs to follow the theme regardless if you are making a fan game. The theme should be more prominent than the fact that you are using elements or characters from an existing game/universe.
  7. Take care of yourself too! Please make sure to stay hydrated, get some sleep, and take time to eat even if you’re working at the same time.
