Hello!

Welcome to the Creative Christmas Writing Jam! This is a casual-friendly jam about trying to write a short story.

Rules

  1. Your story should be told through either the description of the project or (preferably) a software that simulates making a digital book/word doc. With the exception of word documents,  no forced downloads. This is simply so nobody has to have like 20 files on their computer just to judge three peoples work.
  2. No NSFW. Romance and gore are both fine, but nothing freaky. No unironic use of brainrot.
  3. This must be your own story with your own characters. No fan fictions, AUs or stealing others work.
  4. Don't be rude to others.
  5. The Min-Max word threshold is 2,000-25,000.
  6. That's all! Have fun!

Prizes

  • While there is no set prizes for the jam, depending on engagement I may throw in a small cash prize of about 10$ for first place.

Theme

  • The theme will be announced closer to the Jam starting.

NAQ

  • Because this is the first iteration of this Jam, there are no questions to be frequently asked. So, here some questions we think you might ask, also known as Never Asked Questions:
    • "I have no experience with writing, can I join?". Of course! This is a casual Jam that welcomes people of all skill levels.
    • "Does my story have to be written? Can I make a game/animation that tells a story instead?". Not for this Jam.
    • "Can I make a comic?". Comics are fine, but its preferred if you also have the base script on attached as well!
    • "Can I use characters I've already designed?". As long as you explain everything about the character in the story summitted, and not rely on viewers having read another story, then yes, go ahead!
    • "Can I use swears/slurs?". Swears are fine, but because we support all minority groups here, we would like to limit the use of slurs.
    • "Does it have to be Christmas themed?". No, Christmas is just the time that this jam is being hosted, not the theme.
    • "Do I have to use the theme?". Of course not! You may lose some points, but this jam isn't about points, the theme is just to add some more interest.
  • Other questions? Feel free to ask!

That's all for now! Can't wait to see your entries!
