What is the Christmoss Jam?

This is a beginner friendly Christmas game jam for RPG Maker 2003 where you must make a game only using the sprites which will be provided when the jam starts! The sprites will be provided on this page when the jam starts.

After the jam is over, my streamer friends riggy2k3 and dzpg1 will stream the games you have submitted on their Twitch channels, on twitch.tv/rigg2k3 and twitch.tv/dzpg1 respectively. 

What is the theme?

Surprisingly, the game you make doesn't necessarily need to be about Christmas! Because you will be only using the provided sprites, all of which is Christmas themed, your game can be about anything! It will end up being Christmasy either way! You are still free to make your game about Christmas.

How to join

You just need to press the "Join jam" button on this page, and that's it!

We do have a community Discord server if you want to share your progress on your game and talk to others who are participating. You have to be at least 18 years old in order to join the Discord server!

You can still participate in the jam if you are under the age of 18, you just can't join the Discord server.

Rules:

1. The game must be made only using the provided sprites. They can not be edited.
2. You CAN add your own assets only for:
   1. Title & Game Over screens
   2. Pictures
   3. Battle Backgrounds
   4. Battle Animations
   5. System 1 & 2
      
   6. Music
   7. Sound Effects
3. You can't work on your game before the jam starts.
4. Teams are allowed.

Q&A:

How long should the game be?

It can be as long as you like! You could make a game with only one room, you could make one 20 hours long, both are fine! You are encouraged to release anything!

Can I use copyrighted songs?

You are free to use them. I recommend not including explicitly copyrighted songs in your game files. Do keep in mind if the copyright owner would have an issue with you for putting their song in an RPG Maker 2003 game or not.
