Welcome to the XR Game Jam 2021,
hosted by Circuit Stream!

Circuit Stream is proud to host its first ever XR Game Jam! Submit your project for a chance to win prizes, recognition, and of course, glory. Open to everyone who is passionate about XR.

Here are the details:

Game Jam timeline

• The Jam will run from Friday, October 29th, 2021, starting at 5:00 PM (EST) to Friday, November 5th, 2021 at 11:59 PM (EST).
• Voting will take place from Saturday, November 6th, 2021 at 12:00 AM (EST) to Monday, November 15th, 2021 at 8:59 AM (EST).
• Winners will be announced on Monday, November 15th at 3:00 PM (EST).

Is there a theme?

• Yes! We'll be announcing the theme at the start of the jam, in VR (woah), and on a special livestream:
  Please note that those who join us in VR might appear on the livestream. 
• Join the VR Space where the launch is happening! Here are the instructions:
  • Download Spatial for web or headset
  • Create your avatar
  • Enter this room via web browser or headset!

Are teams allowed? 

• Yes, teams of all sizes are allowed to participate.

Is there somewhere where I can brainstorm with my team?

• Yes! Teams can gather to brainstorm and plan after the theme has been revealed in the same VR space that the theme was announced. Here are the instructions to join:

1. Download Spatial for web or headset
   
2. Create your avatar
3. Enter this room via web browser or headset!

 The room will be open throughout the whole Game Jam.  

• Teams can also collaborate via Circuit Stream's XR Community on Slack. To join, go here.

Which kinds of projects are accepted? 

• Anything XR-related, meaning pertaining to Extended Reality. This includes anything in the spectrum of Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR). For more details, you can check out this article.

What tools or engines are allowed?

• All tools and engines are allowed, just be sure to keep in mind the available hardware.  

What assets can be used?

• You can use any functionality or assets that you have the right to use, including asset packs. Be sure to check your licensing and attributions.

What are the judging criteria?

• Creativity/Originality, Use of Theme, and Fun!

Who's judging the games?

• The games will be judged by the public and hosts for one week once the jam is over.

Where can I get live updates about the jam and connect with the community?

• All communications will be delivered through Circuit Stream's XR Community on Slack. To join, go here.

Are there any prizes?

• Yes! We will have prizes for the winners of the public vote and the judges' vote.

Can I get assistance on my game?

• Yes! Circuit Stream XR experts will be offering drop-in Office Hours to help with the development of your game:
