The game is okay, the controls took a few minutes to get used to since they weren't with respect to the camera. Also cannot see things that are far, so I was not able to read the text in game most of the time. Also for easier downloads, just put both the .exe file and the data folder in the same zip file. Good luck updating the game!
i managed to get it to work; i didn't want this to sit with only a few ratings by the time voting ended!
getting it to work wasn't necessarily hard, it was just an extra step that i missed at first. that was my fault!
that aside, the gameplay itself was very difficult; though i did really appreciate the chill music and the text hints. if you pitch the music down just a bit in the menu, you end up with really good lo-fi beats. interesting option to have, haven't ever seen that before.
trying to move when your starting speed is insanely fast, but it decreases, means most of my speed would be burnt up trying to decelerate after my initial keypress. thankfully, watching four seasons of the expanse trained me well for flip and burn maneuvers, but it was still very tough to get the hang of, especially with how strange the camera can behave. nonetheless i can happily say i finally gave it a fair chance and enjoyed my time with it!
Once the game jam finishes, I am going to use feedback to improve and update the game so that it is a lot easier and fun to play. Might add more health power-ups if necessary and gameplay will be be made easier and clearer. Thanks for the criticism, after all, this is a learning opportunity.
I have just fixed movement mechanics and an updated version is coming soon
I was able to get this working, but the controls are unfortunately extremely jarring and I couldn't get past level 3. Also, it seems like the music is uh.. directional? If I turned, the music would move to my other ear, and it got me really disoriented. I like the concept, and you definitely implemented the theme, but I got frustrated very quickly because it was so difficult to control or even see what I was doing. If you could get that sorted out, I'd be interested in trying it again.
Also, it's a small detail but I really liked the pitch slider for the music. I've never seen something like that before, it was fun to play with!
I forgot to adjust the doppler levels, so music is directional. Apologies.
Also, what exactly was your problem in level 3?
Vision is limited because an orthographic view was used, and sometimes, you need to jump into the unknown to further explore the level. Sometimes, you need to move forward while you jump to finish level 3. Sorry for not making it clear.
*EDIT: I will update the game after the game jam to sort things out*
I kind of wonder if something just went horribly, horribly wrong with my installation, since other people seemed to be able to play fine... It wasn't that the view was limited, I could get behind that, the problem was that I would move the mouse and the camera would move in the completely wrong direction, so I couldn't even look where I wanted to go. I really don't know what went wrong, but it was completely unplayable when I tried. Maybe I'll give it another go sometime and see if it's any different.
That problem is present in all games, I have personally tested. Now that the game jam is over, I will soon work on updates to fix these issues.

*EDIT* I'm not so sure about how to fix the audio yet though
Remember to open the .exe file to play. The zip contains the levels that the .exe relies on to play. I'm working on how to make these downloads even easier
I have tested and I now know the problem. This problem shouldn't affect Mac users but Windows users need to save the files in the same location but separate the .exe folder from the rest and not change folder names. This should work and please let me know if it doesn't
i'll try to get this sorted
I could not get this to work. I downloaded both the exe and the zip.
also, which program downloaded did you try to run and what was the outcome? did it come as a corrupted text file or something else?
i got an error trying to download this. im not sure if the pathways are messed up or what, but it's literally unplayable for me.
Sorry. Did you download both the zip file and the other corresponding file?
