Theme of Jam
Tu Latinidad - Your Latinidad
Our heritage, culture and traditions are part of our daily lives. They define us, from how we cook to how we speak to what music we listen to and who our idols are. Our first mobile game jam for Latinx Heritage Month is dedicated to the essence of being Latinx and how it impacts our lives, both big and small.
Note: As we see it, Latinidad is inclusive of Brazil, Indigenous, and Afro-Latinx heritage.
Jam Rules
All games submitted to the jam are required to be made within the time frame of the jam. We will not accept games made prior.
Please refrain from making games centered around violence, blood, abuse, or topics that can be negatively triggering.
In participating in this jam, you commit to creating a functional and polished demo that can serve as a pitch for competing within the prize pool. If you or your team is selected as one of the Top 3 games of the jam, you will need to commit to further polishing and iterating on the game to release it in the Google Play Store on or before December 1, 2023.

We will not accept analogue games, games created in proprietary platforms or games that require an emulator to run.
What assets can I use?
Any assets that you have made, purchased, or downloaded with proper licensing are permitted.
Who will judge the games?
We will have professional developers from the Latinx in Gaming community play the games and select winners between October 16 - 27, 2023. Winners will be announced and notified via email on November 1, 2023.
Challenges
We would like to offer a few modifiers that may help you think outside the box. Although using Challenges is not required, they may help you make a unique game you have never thought about before!
What will the games be judged on?
Quality, creativity, and relation to the theme. The judges will be picking their favorite games for the prize pool.
What is the breakdown of the prize pool ?
The judges will select the Top 3 games and award each winning team $10,000 USD. Half of the prize money will be awarded as part of the selection and the second half will be awarded upon the game being successfully uploaded to the Google Play Store on or before December 1, 2023.
Is there a Discord I can join?
Yes! Please join the Latinx in Gaming server. A channel for the game jam will be open for you to use on September 1. You'll be able to talk to other jammers to brainstorm, form teams, and receive feedback or help.
