Hobby Jam is a beginner-friendly, week-long online game jam designed for hobbyists, solo developers, and anyone who loves simple and creative ideas. No fancy graphics? No problem! Here, the focus is on fun, originality, and imagination.

The jam will start on December 6 and end on December 17, 2024.

The main mechanic theme is: "The floor is... changing"
After the jam ends, participants will vote on each other’s games. If you submit a game, you can play and leave a rating on others games. You have to rate 5 games before you are allowed to rate specific games. After the rating period, the Judges will play the top games and decide on the winners.
Categories include:
Idea: How creative and original is the concept?
Gameplay: Is it fun to play?
Theme adherence: Is floor changing?
Graphic: Is it realy square?
We encourage all participants to record a short video showing how they play their game. Let’s celebrate your creations!
How can I submit my game?
Create an HTML build of your game and upload it to Itch. Configure the game to play on the web. That's all!
Can I work in a team?
Yes.
Can I use a pre-existing game or copy-paste portions from a different project?
Please don't. The game should be created during the jam. Using an existing project as a base is discouraged, but you may use tools, code, or assets you’ve previously developed.
Do I need to create all assets from scratch?
No, you can use pre-existing assets, such as graphics or sounds, as long as you have the right to use them. Remember to credit the original creators if required.
Which Engines can I use?
Construct Classic, Construct 2 or Construct 3
When can I submit my game?
You can submit any time before the rating period. Check the counter at the top of the jam page. Once the timer expires, you will not be able to submit anything.
Do I have to record a video of my game?
Recording a video is optional but highly encouraged!
