And we should celebrate it!

Cozy Winter Jam is an annual 3-day gamejam about making a cozy little game based around anything winter. The serene beauty of snowfall, the warmth of a good fire, or the joy of winter activities, you name it!

It's all about the good vibes. This jam doesn't require a huge commitment! Even if you've only got a couple hours or just 1 day, that's perfect. Grab a nice cup of hot chocolate and enjoy the development process!

The general theme of the jam is anything winter-related, but there is also an additional theme, which is:

'To be announced when the jam starts'

Feel free to get inspired by this theme, or completely ignore it if it's not your thing.

Jamming is more fun together! Join the Discord to share the game making experience, get/give feedback and find a team.

If you don't like competition, feel free to skip this part!

Everyone who submitted a game can play and rate other games (up to 1 week after the jam ends). This can be a fun way to create some healthy competition, but it's also a great way to give each other constructive, written feedback! Remember: don't be afraid to say something nice :)

Breaking the rules may result in your game being disqualified/ removed from the jam.

  1. No AI generated content allowed! This jam celebrates human-made content, so no AI content of any kind is allowed!
  2. Don't feel limited by the 'videogame' part of this jam. You want to make a story, comic or paper card game? Go for it!
  3. No NSFW content (except mild violence, of course.)
  4. You can use any engine, or tools you want.
  5. You can use any assets you have the rights to (make sure to give proper credit though).
  6. Don't submit paid games. After the jam (and 1-week rating period) has ended, you're free to make your game paid.
  7. Don't submit games you did not make in the period of this jam.

The previous Cozy Jam edition (Fall 2024) was a huge success, with 343 participants, and 84 finished projects!

If you're looking for inspiration, check out the previous jam's submissions.
