Short summary
Long ago the Gods were benevolent. They kept us safe, but over time they became more and more greedy. Demanding gifts, and sacrifices as a sign of gratitude for keeping us safe. Once a year the Gods would choose someone to bring their gifts to their messenger, a mysterious but powerful man.
