WELCOME TO CRITTER CITY!

Howdy Critters and Producers! To celebrate the upcoming Kickstarter campaign for Blister Critters (funded and in production!), Odd Gob Games and the Stillfleet Studio are announcing the CRITTER CITY CRAWL Jam on itch.io!

The team is so excited for Blister Critters to make its way to your tables, but we need YOUR help to create a new world for the Critters to explore! To that end, the CRITTER CITY CRAWL aims to create a vibrant destination for Critters to adventure and live in by building a city together with our incredible community! You can also win a FREE BOXED SET!

Submissions for the CRITTER CITY CRAWL should meet the following criteria:

1. Create and title a single urban location—a shop, residence, restaurant, arcade, etc.
2. Include a short description that brings the location to life—a theme, a distinct use or kind of this location, a unique feature/layout, etc.
3. Design an encounter to be had here—a raccoon who works the register, a swarm of frogs who trap those who enter, a snake who needs help finding its glasses, etc.
4. Add a short table of Stuff that can be found here—6–20 items.

This is just the minimum! Please feel free to add artwork, lore, more encounters, more Stuff, Bliffs (animated human-made things), or anything else you have time for!

Submissions will be accepted from January 30, 2024–March 12, 2024. All submissions entered during the jam period will be ranked by our judges (the game’s creators). The top 5 will be compiled into a free digital CRITTER CITY CRAWL supplement for Blister Critters, released right here on Itch! And the creator of the number 1 entry will win a free Blister Critters Boxed Set!

FAQS

How long does my entry need to be? A page or slightly under is fine, but write and illustrate as much as you want! See the sample entry for one example of a Crittery City location, Paul’s Poolside Pizzeria.

How will entries be judged? The game’s creator, Tony Grasso, and co-developer, Wythe Marschall, will read all entries carefully, consulting the Stillfleet Studio team as needed. The top entries will be selected primarily according to two criteria: 1) overall creativity and 2) utility for Critters and Producers (players and GMs).

Who owns the rights to my entry? You do! We just want to share cool material to help everyone enjoy playing Blister Critters. We’re not seeking to monetize anyone’s work through this jam.
