To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Austrian Cultural Forum, we’re inviting you to our Culture Jam: Austria, a unique game jam that merges creativity, culture, and game dev! This is your chance to dive deep into Austrian heritage and create something extraordinary.
🎯 What’s the objective?
Teams of students will be assigned iconic Austrian cultural artifacts or themes —think Klimt’s stunning art, Freud’s psychoanalysis, and much more. Your goal? Develop a playable game demo with your team around your assigned theme.
🏋️♀️ Preparation Phase
You'll have about a month to get ready before the on-site jam. To help you nail your design, Tymoteusz Pietruszka, creator of Primal Fray and Head of PJAIT Game Lab, will lead exclusive design and prototyping workshops. These sessions will give you the tools you need to bring your ideas to life!
📅 On-site Game Jam (Nov 16-17)
It all comes together at the Forum in Warsaw, where you and your team will spend two full days of intense game development. Benjamin Hanussek, LQA Specialist at Wargaming and event curator for the Austrian Cultural Forum, will guide you through the process, ensuring your game gets the polish it needs.
🤜 Final Push
After the jam, you’ll have two more weeks to fine-tune your game and prepare a killer pitch for the Final Showcase. This is your moment to shine, as you'll present your game to the public and get valuable feedback from Raphael Varga, officially representing our industry patron Bloober Team.
📅 The Grand Finale (Nov 30)
At the Final Showcase, the public and invited industry professionals will playtest your demos, see your pitches and cast their votes. The best game will win an exclusive mentoring session with Raphael Varga for its team, giving you insider access to the game industry with all the do's and dont's for your career! No pressure, though! Every participant will get a certificate and awesome goodie bags.
Get cultured, flex your game dev skills, and create something unforgettable!
