Theme Usage
The game fits the theme not by having its mechanics centered around the theme but instead by having the player experience primarily centered around "Close Call": the player must take as many gems as possible with them but the lava forces them to give up some of them when they're missing time, so it's a constant balance between going for a gem and risking death (if they don't die, it's very close (close call)) and giving up some gems to ensure survival.
Additional Notes (optional)
We tried to implement sound using FMOD but that didn't work (it crashed the game), so we had to start the sound implementation all over again. There are also a few known bugs (mostly with ledge grabbing/hanging) but they (usually) don't really hinder player experience.
