INFORMATION ABOUT THE JAM

If you have found this jam this is not your typical jam. Although this jam is not about making games. The Da Game Show is an event where you create your 2d pixel character and give it some description about it. You will submit it here then wait for the voting phase to end. The top 25 submissions will compete in Da Game Show, each qualified character will be competing in certain challenges. In this jam you will be able test your pixel art skills and show it to others.

REQUIRMENTS TO JOIN THE JAM

The following are requirements that every participants should fulfill:

•  You are  allowed to use any pixel art editor as long as you submit it as PNG with transparent background.
• Required size is 32x32 only.
• Let the sample sprite below give you a visual guide.

- Any art style is allowed as long as it is 32x32.

- It should have an idle, running, and hurt/death sprite. 

- Idle has to have at least 2 to 3 sprites and running  4 to 5 sprites.

• Please give your character a good description or story, make sure it makes sense.
• Give it stats for STRENGTH, AGILITY, INTELLIGENCE, and LUCK. Each stat has 10 points, you can only use 20 points for example

STRENGTH: 7

AGILITY: 5

INTELLIGENCE: 4

LUCK: 4

TOTAL OF 20 points and this stats will affect your AI bot  performance in the game.

• Make sure your character is relevant to the theme.
• Pwease give your character a name.

Q&A

A) Where can we see the competition when it starts?

Answer: It would be either live stream(youtube or twitch) or a video posted in Youtube.

B) How would the qualified characters compete?

Answer: I will program each qualified characters with simple AI that would make them act in certain challenges.

C) Why not make it multiplayer?

Answer: I don't know how to make multiplayer but maybe next time.

D) Is there any rewards or stuff?

Answer: No. This is just for fun.

E) Is this "game" will be published?

Answer: Probably by June which is the month where summer begins. I am also asking for your permission if I could use your sprite for the game.  

F) Can we use our submitted sprites after?

Answer: Of course, if you made it then you have rights to use it for whatever you want.

PROGRESS

13/02/21 - Currently working on the beach soccer mini-game also improving bot mechanics and programming stuffs.

18/02/21 - Fixed some bot issues and then planning to begin on the second mini-game.

31/03/21 - Plans change, I'll turn this into a game where you can play. Don't expect too much from it because it ain't like something epic.
