DevDev Summer Jam is a week long non-competitive game jam hosted by the game development clubs of Georgia State and Georgia Tech. Join our Discord to team up with students from your school or from the opposite school.
Theme will be announced one day before the jam starts in an effort to minimize crunch. Teams are encouraged to think about ideas and brainstorm on the day before the jam, however, no development work is allowed until your local time on Saturday, July 9th.
1. You must actively attend Georgia Institute of Technology or Georgia State University to participate in the jam.
2. You are not allowed to submit previous projects or any prior work to this jam.
3. Solo dev is allowed, but team development is encouraged.
4. You are allowed to use pre-made assets as long as you credit them appropriately.
5. You are allowed to use any software to create your game.
6. If you don't happen to finish before the deadline, feel free to submit any unfinished work.
7. Be sure to use the theme in your project. You will be ranked by other jammers based on your use of this theme, so get creative!
Voting will take place as soon as submissions close. You will have a week to play the games of your fellow jammers, rate them based on 5 categories, and leave nice lil comments about your favorite part of the game. The categories are as follows.
1. Concept - How unique or interesting the concept of the game is.
2. Use of Theme - How creatively the team made use of the given theme.
3. Enjoyment - How much you enjoyed the gameplay, disregarding other categories.
4. Visual Aesthetic - How appealing the game is visually.
5. Audio - How the game sounded.
