Hi! Welcome to Disabled Rep VN Jam! We are an unranked game jam running for about eight months. Why so long? Well, our objective is to see more disabled characters in visual novels, including those submitted to other jams that take place during the duration of this jam.

Consider making your game as accessible as possible!

• Your game MUST technically be considered a Visual Novel.
• For your game to qualify, there must be an important character with a disability that is shown or mentioned.

Allowed

• Any form of disability is permitted: Physical, invisible, mental, Et cetera.
• Games with suggestive content (as long as it doesn't have anything listed in the "not allowed" section.)
• Multiple jam submissions, assuming other jams your game is submitted to also permit this.

Not Allowed

• Said disabled character's disability should not be "cured" if, realistically, it couldn't be treated to an extent that would remove it in its entirety.
• Games that fetishize disabilities
• Any project using AI (Writing, Sprites, Code, etc)
• Games that are not properly tagged with content warnings for things such as sensitive topics and flashing lights.
• Explicitly sexual, 18+ content.

  • Yes.
• "What qualifies as a disability?"
  • Please refer to this webpage created by the CDC describing what a disability is.
• "Where is the line between suggestive and explicit content?"
  • Suggestive is when sexual acts are not shown or described in great detail, while explicit is. A "Fade to black" scenario is acceptable for this jam.
• "Can I create a VN for another Jam but also submit it to this one?"
  • Yes, as long as it has a prominent or otherwise important character with a disability in it.
