Theme

THIS YEARS THEME IS ..... Invasion. Here are some ideas to help your creativity.

Invasion can be used in many forms. Invasion is very vague, and we made it like that for a purpose, this will allow your creativity to run wild. Invasion could be used in format, Whether that be Invasion of personal space, or a bug invasion. We look forward to seeing your results. A little reminder that the game must be browser uploaded as we wont be accepting downloads, this reducing the risk of malware, Late submissions will not be accepted and Ensure you leave 1- 2 hours for submission uploads. Happy Jamming!

Rules

  • Team Size: 1-5 members per team. Collaborate, create, and share the scares together.
  • Original Content: All assets, code, and designs must be created during the jam. You may use publicly available or open-source assets, but they must be properly credited.
  • Your Prototype MUST run as a browser upload here on itch.io. ( BROWSER ONLY )
  • The reason this is a necessary step is for the judging and reduction of malware.
  • Submission Deadline: All entries must be submitted before the jam ends. Late submissions will not be accepted.
  • Appropriateness: Content must adhere to community guidelines. No offensive, hateful, or illegal material will be permitted.

Schedule

  • Start Date: 30th January 2025
  • End Date: 2nd March 2025
  • Theme Announcement: 29th of January

Judging Criteria

Games will be judged on the following:

  1. Adherence to Theme: How well the game reflects the announced theme.
  2. Scare Factor: How effectively the game delivers horror.
  3. Originality: Unique ideas and creative execution.
  4. Gameplay: Engaging mechanics and fun to play.
  5. Visual and Audio Design: The atmosphere created through visuals and sound.

  • Can I use pre-existing assets? Only open-source or publicly available assets are allowed, and proper credits are mandatory.
  • How do I form a team? Use the community forum or Discord channel to find teammates.
  • What tools can I use? Any game development tools or engines are allowed. Unity, Unreal Engine, Godot—your choice!
