What is Duke Jam?
Duke Jam is a 1 week long game-making event hosted by DukeDevs, a game development club at James Madison University!
The theme will be announced when the jam starts!
When can I join?
- You can join any time before the jam end date!
- If you cannot make the in-person events, no problem! You can participate and submit fully online.
- You can work alone or in a team!
- No limit to team size!
- Only one person should submit per team, then add the rest of the members as contributors.
What can I make/use?
- Any runnable format is allowed, as long as it runs in browser and/or on Windows.
- Free art/music assets can be used if you have permission.
- Reuse of pre-made code is allowed, but try to make a majority of your game during the jam period!
Submission Rules:
- Your game must run, at minimum, on browser (in itch.io) or Windows.
- Your game shouldn't require any additional software/hardware.
- Versions for multiple platforms are encouraged!
- No hateful, discriminatory, or overly graphic content
- Your game doesn't have to be in a "finished state!"
- Uploading anything, even as a prototype, demo, or incomplete, is still a great accomplishment!
How to submit:
- Upload your game to itch.io like a regular game
- Make the game free and publish it (you can edit the game's page after submitting!)
- Come back to this page, click "Submit Your Project" and choose your game from the dropdown box
- To confirm your game was submitted, navigate to the game's page and check if a new badge was added
- If problems persist, ping an officer in the DukeDevs Discord or email us at dukedevsjmu@gmail.com
Other notes:
- The jam is unranked!
- Any game made during this jam is the property of their respective creator(s)
