Description

In keeping with A Year of UFO 50 the eggjams are following suit and will be inspired by the games covered by the podcast. For this jam our inspirations will be:

• Devilition
• Kick Club
• Avianos
• Mooncat
• Bushido Ball
• Block Koala
• Camouflage
• Campanella
• Golfaria
• The Big Bell Race
• Warptank
• Waldorf's Journey

As for what to make, here are some fine ideas from some of our lovely eggjammers:

• Make a UFO 50 mod (Brendan)
• Follow the colour palette and input scheme of a UFO 50 game (Brett Fritzke)
• Create a sequel to one of the existing games (Cody Mace)
• Prequels: make the prototypes the developers might have made (Kevin)
• Clone a UFO50 game, then diverge accordingly (Brendan)
• It doesn't need to match the UFO50 asthetic: make Barbuta 64 for example (Cody Mace)
• Bootleg LX games (Kevin)
• UFO 50 as a wooden board game with a shared set of pieces (Hayden Scott-Baron)
• A fake manual or guide for a game which doesn’t exist (Hayden Scott-Baron)
• Make a design document and/or prototype images/video/etc (mapsandapps)

What is Eggplant?

The normal podcast is Eggplant: The Secret Lives of Games and it features candid conversations with game creators that dive deep into the art, craft, and process of making games.

But until September 2025 it has become Eggplant Presents: A Year of UFO 50, a 1-year weekly show covering every game in the UFO 50 collection.
