Cool stuff! Reminded me of a different spin on Garbage In Garbage Out (https://jonathanwhiting.com/games/garbagein/ ). I had fun watching a few robots accidentally fighting each other. I'll follow your orders and go play linecook though :)

thanks for the link; haven’t heard of it before now! Crossed Wired draws some inspiration from RoboRally, and after just playing GIGO it seems pretty apparent to me that that game had a lot of roborally inspiration too. Especially the way the robots turn corners while on conveyor belts. (ah, and I’ve just seen RR explicitly called out as an inspiration on the game’s presskit)

thanks for playing! and linecook too :)

Ah ! It makes a lot of sense that there's a common influence / ancestor. I'm not super well versed in tabletop, so thanks for the callout and the link there! My pleasure, looking forward to seeing more from ya :)

This is a very pleasant sandbox.  I didn't really try to plan out any specific actions, but felt very content to wire up the robots randomly and watch them work.  I think if this was ever so slightly more fleshed out it could work as an Orb Farm-esque second monitor idle game. Nice work!

Developer

thank you!

oh wow orb farm is lovely – thanks for the link (and the comparison!)

I have a real soft spot for programs that have simple automata which plug away at their basic tasks with no particular goal in mind. Even if it's not a game as such it is a pleasant sequence of interactions. On a separate note—Line Cook is a fun game, I appreciate that my customers had patience while I desperately put together their orders :D

aw shucks, thank you! and thank you for checking out Line Cook!! I’m really happy with how it turned out. I’m still trying to get a perfect +8 on hard mode but haven’t quite succeeded yet haha
