  • Great work. I love the materials and grass and overall idea. I think somewhere along the process the normals have lost power in the baked assets and aren't popping enough, also when looking at the building the materials work really well but the smoothing groups make areas feel too smooth and undefined. The final presentation is great though and the lighting compliments the scene well.
  • Hi Jay, I like the overall setup here - it reads well! Good reference work and building out this little scene. I think the look of the trees and foliage are great, and I love the sculpt work that you've done on some of the assets That being said here are some of my notes: 1. You seem to have some UV seams issues on all of your roofing - I'd revisit some of this because it's pretty noticable from a distance. 2. I love the concept you chose, but you seem to have lost a lot of those ideas in execution - the major building lacks a lot of the shape language in there, and as a result seems very plain and boring. You have the materials down, but I'd focus and spend some time on revisiting that roofing to give it an interesting silohuette. I'd also focus on the facades and add those shapes back in. 3. The terrain seems very boring and dull to look at. Spend some time decorating it with more rubble / rocks - and tufts of flora to make it more natural. Your shoreline looks very steep, and those rocks don't seem like they'd belong there - I'd try making it more gradual in areas and varying the depth - maybe adjust the values of the rocks along with it so they blend in better with rest of the scene. 4. I love that you've attempted to add in motion to the scene, but the overall feel is that we're underwater with how wavy everything is. Consider looking into it some more and add vertex color weighting to the meshes where they won't animate. 5.
