Première game-jam archéologique / First archaeological game-jam

En 2022, les fouilles menées à Étiolles fêtent leurs 50 ans !

Dans cette optique, l'équipe de recherche, dirigée par M. Boris Valentin (Professeur à université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne), souhaite valoriser les résultats de son travail dans le cadre original de l'organisation d'une game-jam. Les thèmes sont liés aux découvertes scientifiques accumulées durant les 50 années de fouille.

L'organisation d'un tel événement adapté au contexte de recherches archéologiques constituera une première en France, voire au-delà. Ce type d’événement, s'il s'est développé ces dernières années, n'a encore jamais été appliqué à des résultats scientifiques issus d'une fouille archéologique. Une attention particulière sera ici portée à l’exploitation des problématiques et des données scientifiques afin de proposer des jeux fun, mais également conformes à la réalité des découvertes et à celle du déroulement de ces fouilles.

Quand est-ce que commence la game-jam  ?

Le vendredi 07 octobre 2022 à 20h00 heures de Paris (18:00 UTC) ; c’est à ce moment que sera ouvert l’accès aux assets.

Quand est-ce que la game-jam se termine  ?

Nous proposons deux formats au choix :

• Format court : du vendredi 07 octobre 2022 à 20h00 heure de Paris (18:00 UTC)  au dimanche 09 octobre 2022 à 17h00 (15:00 UTC);
• Format long : du vendredi 07 octobre 2022 à 20h00 heure de Paris (18:00 UTC) au dimanche 16 octobre 2022 à 17h00 (15:00 UTC).

 50-year anniversary!

For this occasion, the research team, led by Pr. Boris Valentin (Professor at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University), wishes to promote the results of their work in an original way, by organizing a game-jam. Its theme will be the scientific discoveries accumulated by the team during 50 years of excavations.

Such an event, organized around archaeological research will be the first of its kind in France, perhaps even on a wider scale. This type of event, although it has developed these past few years, has never yet been applied to scientific results from archaeological excavations. Particular attention will be drawn to the use of scientific questions and data, in order to create games that are fun, but also which conform to the reality of discoveries and of field work.

When will the game jam start?

On Friday, October the 7th, 2022, at 8pm Paris time (18:00 UTC); access to assets will be opened then.

When will the game-jam finish?

You can choose between two options:

• Short format: from Friday, October the 7th, 2022 at 8pm Paris time (18:00 UTC)  to Sunday, October the 9th, 2022 at 5pm (15:00 UTC);
• Long format: from Friday, October the 7th, 2022 at 8pm Paris time (18:00 UTC) to Sunday, October the 16th, 2022 at 5pm (15:00 UTC).
