What was the inspiration for your project?
For a VPS location based themed hackathon I decided to be a bit meta with an AR game that relies on knowledge of places around the world and geolocation. There are many renowned steel globe structures in NYC and turning them into an interactive globe with an aiming cursor to launch darts at random locations around the world makes this rather unique AR activity. Technically this was one the most challenging AR games to develop having to transform the cursor location on a spinning, tilting globe from cartesian to spherical coordinates to gps locations. For this game I generated a database of 50 capital cities, 20 monuments and 20 natural wonders. Playing the game is a fun way to learn geography. Adding a timer element and multiplayer would be the next items to bring to the game.
