FEAR IN SPACE Voxel mode.

Welcome intergalactic partner to this mini Jam!!

Your mission will be to create a small video game in a time of 7 days whose theme is... "Fear in space". You are free to interpret the theme as best suits your concept of the game. The challenge here is that such a game must be created using voxel art (type of art made up of 3D pixels).

The goal of this mini Jam is to demonstrate how cube-created little men (cute, right?) can turn into a scary and creepy nightmare. Will you be able to face the challenge? Let's go!

LIMITATION

The limitation is a special condition that your game must follow, but it is open to interpretation. the limitation will be revealed 5 minutes before the jam starts and is a mandatory requirement for the game. If you're not sure if your idea doesn't fit the constraint, remember that everyone will interpret it differently

The limitation is: "Protection"

Questions:

Q= Protect what?

R= something, someone, animal, resource, I don't know, the interpretation is free.

Definitions:

  • 1. Action to protect or prevent a person or thing from receiving damage or something that produces it from reaching it.
  • 2. Help for a person or thing to be in good condition.
  • 3. Preventive care in case of an eventual risk or problem.

ELEMENTS TO EVALUATE

At the end of the Jam, there will be a qualification period that will last for 5 days. Your game will be graded based on:

  • Originality: How innovative is the idea?
  • Terror: The fear that the game transmits
  • Use of Voxel Art: Design of characters and elements within the game.
  • Throttling Usage: How well the game incorporates the throttling.

RULES:

Reading the rules or not reading them is not an excuse to break them.

Keep game content clean. No NSFW content, offensive content, excessive blood/violence.

Please answer shipping questions honestly. You will be asked to answer a few questions when you submit your game. Please answer them as best you can. Giving vague answers is a great way to start red flags.

Any game that does not follow the rules will be removed from the jam without prior notice.

  • Can I submit more than one game? Yes, but I would advise against it.
  • Can I submit a game that I already made? No. You can only submit projects that are completed on time. We check it.
  • Can I make changes during the qualification period? Once the time is up, no more changes will be accepted, so be careful.
  • What motor can I use? You can use any motor or frame you want. You can even make your own if you want.
  • Do I have to follow the topic? No, but hey ... I recommend you do it.
  • I have code and resources from other Jams that I want to use, are they allowed? And it is! If you have the rights to use it, anything not done specifically for this particular jam is allowed. This particular jam is not strict on the "build it from scratch" rule, but it is recommended.
  • How can you tell if I used pre-made resources or made the game at an earlier stage? Outside of the obvious red flags, we don't really check. Jams are for fun. Bend the rules if you want, just don't fool yourself and be an idiot picking on genuine people.
