Welcome

A game jam is an event about creating games within a limited amount of time. The Feedback Jam, in particular, has a strong focus on responding to player feedback.

This will be the first Feedback Jam, and depending on how it goes, it may be held annually/seasonally.

Theme

To be revealed at the start of the jam...

Format

The event will be held in 2 parts: Part #1 will be creating a game, and part #2 will be about updating your game to respond to player feedback.

So make sure to join part #2 after submitting your game to this part! (itch.io/jam/feedback-jam-part-2)

Rules

  1. Games must be made within the jam's timeframe. It's alright to use assets/tools made before the jam, so long as they weren't made specifically for the jam.
  2. Games may not be updated during the voting phase. Updating the game's page without modifying the game itself is just fine.
  3. No sensitive/mature content.
  4. Have fun! :D

Voting

Games will be voted on to determine the winner of part #1.

The criteria:

  • Enjoyment - How fun was the game?
  • Graphics - Was it pleasing to the eyes?
  • Audio - Did it sound good?
  • Creativity - See something new?
  • Theme - How well was the theme incorporated?

Miscellaneous

  • You may enter as teams. Go to the 'Community' tab at the top of the page to find a team to join.
  • The game doesn't have to follow the theme, but one of the voting criteria will be on how well it did follow it.
  • You may use any engine/library to make your game. New to game development? Godot, Game Maker, Unity, and Unreal are some good options.
