Started this project right at the end of last year but could not finish the project. Since then I stumbled across the FFS game jam and decided to jump back into it. This is officially my first game jam and first finished project even though it is still only a prototype.

I have learned a lot and had a bunch of fun thank you FFS for this opportunity!!

I have to say, if this is your first finished game, you've got some pretty strong design and dev skills! Everything worked perfectly and the goal of the game was clear, controls easy to pick up. So good work on pulling off that much already!

As someone who also worked on an "endless"-type game for this jam, I know the main design pillars of these games is rewarding mastery and encouraging replayability. One of the ways to do that is through high difficulty, and that's a tough design goal to nail down. While playing your game, I quickly decided that I wouldn't bother trying to collect coins or anything else, because it was nearly impossible already to not touch the walls and die instantly. My strategy wasn't "See how high I can score," but rather "See if I can live more than 10 seconds".

I'm not sure if that was your goal, but it was discouraging to have a single hit restart the level every time. I'd suggest giving players a little more room to make mistakes, especially in the very beginning, or even turn the walls into something other than instant death. Seeing that this is a prototype, I wish you the best if you choose to finish it. You've got a great starting point!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for a very cool comment to a new comer to the Game Dev community! I must admit I am a Software Engineer by trade and thus one of my main goals was to get it working first.

I am most definitely going to take your critique and advice to heart and improve both on Geom Runner and my skills going forward. My goal to geom runner was to be difficult and frustrating yet fun and casual. Thinking about my goal with your advice in mind I agree that the zero tolerance death is maybe a bit much and can possibly be improved by something like bouncing of the walls etc... I don't know yet, I will put some thought into am improved and fun maybe even crazy solution.

I can confirm that I am still working on Geom Runner as much as I can and will post some updates to my prototype hopefully getting to the point where I can actually publish the game (My dream and goal).

Again thank you for the comment, it gives me a feeling of great achievement knowing someone tried my game :) .
