THEME IS CURSED SPIRITS!

Planning before the jam is fine, and you are welcome to reuse some assets and code from previous projects, but it is something you should limit.

In the spirit of participating in a game jam, you should keep most of your development during the jam period to get the most out of it!

Preparation ahead of the jam is encouraged, and feel free to leverage certain assets and code from past projects. However, it's advisable to exercise restraint in doing so.

Embracing the true essence of a game jam involves dedicating a substantial portion of your development efforts to the jam's designated timeframe. This approach ensures that you extract the maximum creative potential and learning experiences from the event. So, while prior planning is acceptable, strive to make the majority of your game's development occur within the jam period to fully immerse yourself in the exhilarating challenge!

Your game can be developed using any engine, as long as your game can be played via the browser and/or on Windows!

Don't stress! Incomplete or buggy games are entirely welcome. Remember, perfection is not the goal here – every submission is embraced, flaws and all!

Games with mature content are welcome, provided they are appropriately flagged. In instances of disturbing or inappropriate content, we trust jammers to exercise common sense and flag such content on the game page.

Please be aware that we retain the right to remove any games that are deemed inappropriate or not flagged correctly. If you have any uncertainties, don't hesitate to reach out for clarification. Your cooperation ensures a respectful and enjoyable experience for all participants.

Contributors to the jam can vote on submissions once the jam has closed.

There are five general voting categories: Fear Factor, Theme, Story, Sound Design and Environment/Graphic Design. These are voted on by jam participants. There is also a private criteria "Horror Judge" for the hosts to identify games that were especially innovative or unique!
