It was fun getting enemies infected and moving around them in tight spaces.
The game is visually attractive and has nice spore particles.
I believe making the movements faster would really improve the pace of the game and also give you the quick thrill of wanting to engage in combat or not. Overall, I see much potential here.
Thank you, thats great advice, do you think a run button would help? Make the enemies faster and the player only be faster when he runs? Maybe start in a more open space an then make the spaces smaller for difficulty?
I would try making the movement speed faster first and see how it feels before adding more actions like running.
You could make enemies faster, maybe enemies explode on death and you have to dodge spore particles, maybe you have a spore gun and can harvest ammo from spores and enemies before they explode.... There are a lot of things you can experiment with :).
Interesting idea but it needs some more refinement. One issue I have is that the combat is not viable if the player only has one HP left. The artpack takes me back to the mizjam. Did you participate in that jam? I also liked the animation and particle effect.
Thanks, it sure needs a lot of refinement, in the end I had just not enough time. This was my first three hour jam and the time ran through my fingers. Yes I participated in mizjam, it was my first game jam. I still had the art pack and thought it might be a good choice for such a short amount of time, so I don't spend to much time on animation...
Fun idea, got much potential. Really like the particle effect too.
Thank you, in the end I thought I should have left out the particles and use the time to improve the game mechanic more. But I had to make the infection radius visible somehow...
I like the level design here and the art you picked out for this jam. Although, it seems I didnt need to infect the enemies as I could of passed through to the next level no problem. Overall though, the style behind it and idea was really nice!
Yes you can sneak behind them without killing them. There should have been some fine tuning, maybe keep the door closed until all enemies are dead. But I just ran out of time... 😕
