Friendship Jam is a game jam for creating games focusing on friendship!
Your game can be about making new friends or hanging out with old ones, about friendship between people of the same gender or people of different genders, about just one friendship or about many friendships... Anything is fine as long as friendship is the focus!
Often we find that games and other media portray romance as a goal or reward while friendship is seen as a consolation prize, so we want to put a spotlight on friendship, which is just as valid and important.
Rules:
- Make a game that puts a focus on friendship!
- Romance is OK but shouldn't be the focus.
- This is an inclusive jam! While it's fine to discuss sensitive topics, entries that promote hatred are not allowed.

- There is no voting in this jam! Everyone who participates is a winner 👍
- While the jam officially starts on June 17th, you can start working on the game beforehand too.
- You can submit unfinished games, but there must be something playable at the end of the jam.
- Feel free to use any assets that you have permission to use.
- Teams are OK! Working alone is also OK!
- You can include adult content as long as it is properly marked as such.
- If it isn't evident from the title or summary that your game is focused on friendship, please either mention #friendshipjam or how friendship is included in the summary.

- Ren'Py is a visual novel engine with a built-in tutorial.
- Twine is a tool for making interactive fiction.
- Bitsy is an online game editor for little games.
- GB Studio lets you make games for the GameBoy (as well as for the web).
- RPG Maker has a free trial and is an easy way to make 2D RPGs.
