Frog Jam. Oooooh, I love how the name sends shivers down my spine...

Welcome to Frog Jam. A Game Jam hosted by FIRST Robotics Team 503, Frog Force.

Hopefully you know what a Game Jam is, but if you have literally no idea what that or how you even got to this page, here's a helpful video.

In the case that I completely forgot to record a video (or you just don't like watching videos???), here's the general idea...

A Game Jam is basically an online competition where people design and build a game within a specified amount of time. But not just any game, as these kinds of Game Jams are special. Rather than making just any random videogame and submitting it, a theme is provided and the game involve the provided theme in some way. For example, if the theme were something like time, a person may make a game with some sort of time-based mechanic, thus incorporating the theme. And another example may be a theme such as color-blindness, and a person may make a game with a more monochrome color scheme. The possibilities are endless.

SO WHAT IS THE THEME???

Hop-fully you're ready for this theme that you may or may not have guessed by now. The theme for Frog Jam will be... frogs! So, what are you waiting for? Hop to it!

SO WHAT ARE THE RULES THEN???

1. Submissions open at 10am on 11/20 and close at 10am on 11/27. Be sure to submit on time as we will not be taking late submissions!

2. You can submit your game to be playable to any platform, but it must be playable at least on either the Web or Windows.

3. All submissions must be SFW.

4. Be sure to have fun!

If you have any questions, shoot us an email! [insert valid email]

BUT WHAT IF I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO MAKE A GAME???

Don't worry, we got you. Frog Force will be hosting several livestreams over the course of the Game Jam to teach you on how to make a videogame. The schedule is as follows...

Our first stream will be an introductory stream where we introduce Frog Jam and the programs that will be using throughout the livestreams (and a 503 plug as well). Our next series of streams will be over how to make an RPG styled game in Unity. The next few streams will be over how to make a physics styled game in Unity as well. And finally we will conclude with a gaming/judging stream at the end of the Game Jam.

You can check the livestreams out on our YouTube channel.
