^An actual screenshot of an actual talk scheduled to be given at GDC. So, Uh, fuck this.  We're going to make some actual punk games that Amazon won't want to claim to be affiliated with.

Rules:

1) Make a punk video game as fast as you can. 

2) Don't be a terrible person (No racism, no sexism, no homophobia, no transphobia, etc. Standard "don't be a terrible person" rules)

Screed:

Make a game about righteous anger. Make a game about every time the system let you down. Or betrayed you.  Make a game about every time a guy told you about your experiences. Make a game about every time your input was ignored or taken without credit. Make a game about every time someone misgendered you. Or deadnamed you. Make it loud. Make it angry. Make it ugly. Make it so intimidating that some fucking corporate shill from the biggest retailer in the fucking world won't even want to fucking think about the label again. Make it about finding your place and your people in a hostile world that clearly doesn't want you here anymore. 

Make a game about existential dread. Make a game about you don't belong anywhere in this capitalist hellscape and the world wants you dead. Make a game about how you'll never be happy until the every one of the fuckers that broke this world never speaks again. Make a game about how your dev machine constantly breaks down and its your only source of income. Make a game about how billionaires exist in a system that allows people to starve and freeze to death when there's abundant supplies of both food and shelter. 

Make it fast. Keep the anger sustained. Make it one sitting. Do not take breaks.* Fuck mechanics. Fuck "juice". Fuck polish. Fuck power fantasies. Fuck game design. Fuck "are games art". Fuck the definition of games. If you think it's a game, it's a game. Just spit pure venom and get it all out. Punk is for the outcasts. Punks for getting the anger and raw energy out before getting to work to make things better.

*Please be safe. You cant fight if you've burned yourself out before getting to the starting line. Once you feel the need to take a break, submit your game. Broken? Ok. Doesnt launch? Fine. Confusing? Rad. Punk is for the moment and if you got something out of it, that's all that is needed. 

**i do realize this is a glamorization of punk that most likely never existed. However, that doesn't mean it cant exist now.
